They do. And I believe the photos were taken by Daniel's brother...I
loaned out my copy to someone, and can't look at it right now, but
that's cool that his brother (if that's who it is) is involved as well!

I'm not sure if anyone is interested in setting up a DL lyric/tab/chord
archive but I thought I'd send this out there. This is just tab and
lyrics that I came up with and by no means are they absolutely correct.
I live in a French community (sort of) in Canada and I'm familiar with
some of the "slang french" DL uses. (ex: he sings "'y'a quelqu'un.."
when it's really "Il y a quelqu'un..")

E-0-0-0-
A-------
D--2-2-2 etc. for the first part and in between this line...
G-------
B-------
E-------

E---------0------------0--------------------- The timing is sketchy
A-------4---------------------------24----24- but if you've heard the
D--6-642-2-2--6------6--------626-62--2--2--2 song, you should be able
G--------------44-464-4-4---64---4-----21---- to follow it.
B-------------------------44-----------------

(some of my written French may be rusty, (ie. grammar) sorry)

The tab I sent is messed up and should be fixed. The notes played on the
B string should be 5's and not 4's...(the guitar was out of tune)
thanks...Dale.

So who is reading this? :)

I don't know what to say, if I'm to gush about Daniel Lanois or
something, but to save me from e-mail embarassment, I will refrain.

I'm just curious to know who really enjoys his solo work as much as
do because I don't know anyone except for myself and my brother who even
listens to Lanois. I stumbled into Lanois by watching "Life and Times"
on the L.A. PBS station, KCET, and he just charmed my pants off. I loved
how he compared Hendrix to Irish music and that made me curious.

Wonderfully, I adore his songwriting craft and singing and truthfully,
I think he is better than anyone he has ever produced. I can't describe
how I have personally benefitted from his creativity. One creative
mind begets another.

Well, the radio station is going to rebroadcast his interview with
E. Harris tonight and I am anxiously awaiting.......

I often do a DejaNews search of "Lanois" and have come up with quite a few
postings from some of the technical/music groups discussing what you're
looking for - You can do a DejaNews search through Yahoo's
(http://www.yahoo.com) 'more options' search link... Quite a few groups
discuss Lanois, by the way - there's been a lot of talk recently on one of
the country groups about the Emmylou album, the ambient group talks about
his work with the Eno related artists, the U2 groups, the above
mentioned technical side, etc, etc... The nice thing about doing a search
like this is that Lanois is not a 'common' name, and thus you don't get
many results that aren't about Dan himself! :)

I always sing along when I'm driving (alone, of course :) ) but have never
thought to type out the lyrics - plus there are some that I definitely
can't make out... I found a guy that had typed up the lyrics to "Rocky
World" - I'll try to find those, plus I'll try to type up a few songs this
week if I have time. Hey, Kenley - how about posting a "Lyrics" section on
the home page - that way we can all kind of work on them as a group...?

[No problem. I would love to have lyrics posted on the home page. Kenley]

Could anyone figure out any of his French lyric? This may sound weird, but
I know enough Spanish to be able to get an idea of what the French lyrics
are about, but would never be able to do the actual French translations...

This brings up another question: Has Lanois ever had any real music videos
done? I read (in a newsgroup, actually, though I forget which one) that he
had filmed one a while back using one of those Fisher-Price (toy) video
cameras - you know - the ones that actually used an _audio cassette tape_
(imagine the quality of picture these got!) but haven't heard of any
'real' videos for the singles... anyone?
