I just bought James' "Wah Wah" album today - very
interesting random music
out takes from the "Laid" recording sessions w/Brian
Eno. I'd recommend
this for a more in-depth view of Laid and of what Eno has been up
to with
Passengers, etc... I may like it better than the album...
Somewhat but not really related: Brian Eno will be producing
Baaba Maal's
new album! Neato! I read it in the "Straight No Chaser"
record label
magazine. (Eno produced Oryema's incredible first album) BTW -
Straight No
Chaser is the label that put out the great Mambo sampler
"Big Noise" -
Check it out!)

Oh yeah - Got the Sling Blade soundtrack too - _Very_ cool - I
think
Orange Kay and Blue Waltz are two of my new favorite Lanois
tracks - the
whole CD is great, but these two definitely stand out in my mind
- one is
calm but slightly disorienting (Blue Waltz) and the other is so
incredibly
loud and fast and mean - like "Waiting" and the outro
to "Wynona" mixed
together - beautiful! - Ah, this does it no justice - just listen
to it
again - loud :)

of Lubbock and have long enjoyed JDG's music (he's a swell
