Subject: NEW ADDRESS FOR LIST & WWW

Hi all,

I recently got moved off the server that has been hosting these
pages for the past year and now have my own domain for another
site I do. Therefore, the new address for the web is listed above
and the address to send all posts to the newsletter should go to
lanois@sfbayconcerts.com. Please update your address books, links
and bookmarks.

Many thanks.

I apologize if this has already been discussed on the list, but
I've got

the US version of Wynona, which we all know is stamped with a big

"American Version" across the front. Is this only
because of the cover

photograph, or are there any other differences between US and
import

versions of the album?

Subject: In Defense of Fever In Fever Out & My Appeal For
Openmindedness

Greetings All. In response to recent criticism of Luscious
Jackson record,

my intial experience was that I too found it lacking in some
ways, but after

returning to it after several days, I found it quite good. In my
own way, I

was wanting more Daniel, and this is not his record, it is LJ's,
eh? When I

listened to this record on it's own terms rather than with
misguided

expectations, I found it to be incredibly strong in the bass and
drum

department especially, (Mighty Grooves!) and more than a few of
the lyrics

are as deep as one could ask of anyone. Like "Faith",
for example. "Faith

will come humbly down. Fear will come tumbling down." Take
this all with a

grain of salt, but take it fairly, on it's own terms, as a
Luscious Jackson

record, and perhaps try to experience some of why Daniel would
choose to

work with them. (I think they have their own voice, a desirable
thing!) It

is clear he chooses artists who show a depth of spirit or
character and a

personal voice in their music. ( I hope I don't over step my
boundaries by

attempting to articulate what I percieve in Daniel's methods.)
This kind of

approach to a less biased open minded way of listening is
rewarded with a

deeper experience of the music, and the love that can come
through it. And

that is what this is all about. Mighty love.

PS: By the way, I am still seeking like minded, mature musicians
to work

with. Excuse this personal use of this digest, but I want to
employ every

resource towards this end. So, if you are musicians seeking a
drummer

percussionist of quality, vision and depth of spirit, contact me.

Thanks to Ant and Juani for the lyrics on "Wynona".
I've always

wondered what the lyrics for "Death of a Train" were.
That song is a

personal favorite. It makes me think of days gone by, lost in a

reverie of nostalgia. As the semester and year comes to a close
I'd

like to wish everyone a little inner peace. I'm looking forward
to

the sountrack 'Slingblade' an early Christmas present to myself.

Take care, Eric "Iver" Iversen

Hiya,

I've got a question that I can't answer offhand, and maybe you
could

help me out here?

Somebody asked in a lyrics quiz what song the drumline for
"the Maker"

originally was for; and I really don't remember even knowing
that,

although I probably heard of it... Could you possibly help me
out, as

this really is irritating me!

Thanks heaps!
