Subject: More SubPop recommendations

Hey, while we're getting musical recommendations out of our collective
systems, and while we're talking about SubPop, y'all may also want to check
out Mark Lanegan. He's got four CDs out with SubPop, and they are all
magnificent. Top honors, though, have to go to Whiskey for the Holy Ghost
and I'll Take Care of You. After that, take a listen to Scraps at Midnight
and The Winding Sheet.
Lanegan is the lead singer for Screaming Trees, but his solo work is mosly
blues inflected folk, with just a touch of country. Amazing, insightful, and
dark. I absolutely love it. He works with a guitarist, Mike Johnson, who's
style is absolutely gorgeous. Although their styles are quite different, I'd
love to see what a Lanegan/Lanois pairing would sound like. Unfortunately,
I've heard that Lanegan is a bit of a tyrant in the studio, liking to have a
great deal of control over the creative process.
Anyway, check it out. I think you'll like it.

I'm looking for information on a new artist named P J Olsson. His record was
co-produced by Lanois cohort Jaime Candeloro (who worked with Daniel on
Lusicious Jackson, etc) He's in the new Newsweek and his album is called
"Words for Living" . It's out this week and is something all the Acadieians
should know about.
Heres s link to his site >>>www.PJ Olsson.com
Thanks

Subject: Concert

To Daniel Lanois:I would like to invite Daniel Lanois to hear my group IHOT
- International House of Trances at the knitting Factory Main Space in July.
That is, if he happens to be in the New York Area. I am probably one of the
manny performers who would love to have him produce their cd, but how can I
make him aware that this band exists? By sending unsolicited e mail and
brazening it out is probably one way to go about it. To wit: I am sending
the project description, Bio and "psychedelic" poster redolent with
fractals, in the hope that M. Lanois might be interested in hearing our demo
,or coming to see us live. Sincerely, Mossa Curiel de Bildner.

Subject: heather duby's producer steve fisk

hello-
this is a reply to Otto K's e-mail about heather duby. well, i don't know
anything about her, i do know about her producer steve fisk and sub-pop.
fisk has produced and played on many albums like by screaming trees, mark
lanegan, soundgarden, nirvana, low, soul coughing, and pigeonhed. sub pop is
a great indie label that soundgarden and nirvana started on. there's some
great stuff on sub-pop. my recommends would be sunny day real estate and
their lead singer's solo album: jeremy enigk's return of the frog queen. if
you like stuff a little harder sunny day is really good. but, i think most
lanois fans will dig enigk's frog queen album.
May u live 2 see the dawn
