It's been discontinued by Ibanez, but you can find em used if you look hard enough. I found two myself. Big, rich fuzz tone, which provides great feedback sustain. [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] Date: Thu, 22 May 1997 09:44:45 -0700 (PDT) From: "L. Turner" Subject: Slingblade, redux Hi- Yet another note to these protracted discussions of the Slingblade soundtrack. Although soundtrack albums are produced, obviously, with a profit motive, soundtrack music is primarily designed to work with the visuals in the film to creat emotions and feelings associated with something beyond the visual or sonic. In pursuit of this, one might check out _Unheard Melodies_ by Claudia Gorbman or _Audio Vision_ by Michel Chion (esp. the portions on what he terms "synchresis"). True, lotsa sountrack album can work as stand-alones, but all this itchy criticism of the Slingblade offering seems to be based on comparing it to Wynonna, which I think is unfair. I agree with those who dislike the addition of extraneous tracks to the soundtrack disc, a cheap shot by Island. See the Dead Man Walking disc (which I also own, and LIKE, thank you very much) for another blatant example of this. But to me, listening to Slingblade (and I will probably buy the tape when it comes out on video), conjures up many images, then emotions, and can lead to rich dialog about many moral issues associated with what I think is a dandy flick. I go for the big sensory blowout when I flip on the disc. DL is the messenger of a lot more than the music here, folks. Don't shoot him. Just don't buy the disc if it's not your cup o' latte'. lt [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] From: WFY261@aol.com Date: Sat, 24 May 1997 22:27:10 -0400 (EDT) Subject: Re: ACADIE Digest, Number 72 [Kingsway] As long as we're on the subject of Kingsway, which is the right address? I was told it's at Esplanade and Chartres. Two people gave slightly conflicting addresses - is it at St. Charles or Chartres? Thanks. I hope no one minds my asking about this, or that it is being discussed in the Digest.
