I asked Adam Samuels and the other guy who was setting up his guitars, and neither of them really wanted to identify the pedals or explain the path.  Ialso asked about the tuning of his Firebird and Adam said he didn;t know, the other guy didn't want to say.

That said, I asked Dan himself, and he told me the tuning, but I never thought to ask him about the pedals. I believe someone once identified some of them from a photo that was going around, but I cannot find that email. You might find that in the newsletter archives.

I just saw him in Minneapolis.  His pedalboard was very simple - A Digitech Whammy pedal, a Line 6 echo pedal, an orange Space Kay pedal, and a very simple A/B router.  All this ran thru a Morley volume pedal on the way to his Vox AC30, which was mic'd with a single Sennheiser409.  I have a good close up, post your email if you want it...

Hi I would love to see the close-up picture of his set-up. I am particularly interested in the setting he is using for the line6 delay modeller. It's very interesting he has moved to it, as it is a very affordable effect and Danny has a great collection of delays.

In the recordings from this tour it sounds to me like the analog+chorus delay setting, but I suppose it could also be digital+chorus.

I would also love to see the Kay pedal (I suppose that's the fuzz distortion sound he switches to for some of his soloing)

My email is santiagoacr@yahoo.com

I think there might be a picture on the Tour page somewhere; just click through some of the pictures listed in the right side column next to individual shows.

Peace,

Would also love to have the "close up" pic, and/or any others you can spare.  tardy@midsouth.rr.com

Thanks a lot.

well i dont know what a picture of a line 6 pedal is going to tell you since the knobs are all "soft" but, im pretty sure, close to positive that he is using the EH Memory-Man modelling mostly, since that is/was kind of their(Dan, Malcolm, Bill, Mark) thing.. The 6 pedal travels better than the MM and he get 3 other presets from it. Mostly it matters not a bit about his signal path,, I saw him years ago in NY and his Vox exploded through the course of the show,, the pedals were out of the chain, and he still sounded like Dan,, he is just a genius player,, and it is pure touch, mixed with slightly fatigued gear, nothing better..

Folks,

I am out of the game here, I record classical music, limited rock and jazz these days.  Does Daniel Lanois, ever use Millennia Media pres, and Schoeps Mics? Not a rep person. Just a lame person record too...tooo...toooo many stereo recordings.

Ci Vediamo,
