Great gig last night!

And for those of us who collect live recordings, Norwegian radio station NRK will broadcast the show later this year I'll let you know when I get more information about the air date, etc. and I'll also make sure a capture of the broadcast will be torrented... I recorded part of the show on my MD player (forgot to switch disc until the encore break towards the end), but I haven't had the time to check it out yet. If it's listenable, I'll probably torrent it while we wait for the FM broadcast.

My sister and I also had the pleasure of exchanging a few words with Daniel Lanois before and after the concert, and what a super-nice guy he is!

I haven't had the time to transfer my recording yet, so I don't even know if there is any point torrenting it at all. If it turns out the recording is unlistenable, we'll still get a rip from the upcoming FM broadcast though.

Sorry for the short notice, but part of the show will be broadcast tonight (22:05 CET) on NRK P1's P1-Scenen. I don't know how much Lanois there will be since two additional artists will also be featured during the hour long program, but you can listen online at http://nettradio.nrk.no/default.php (+++ is the best quality).

If you can't listen tonight, NRK Web Radio has a good archive (I'll post a detailed description for you to access the archive later), and as promised, I will of course record and share it as well. Unfortunately though, NRK has started to use a compressed feed for their FM broadcast, so the Digital Satellite stream (MP2 at 192 kbit/s) is the best quality we'll get.

We only got three songs tonight - The Maker, The Messenger and Still Water. Part two of the concert will follow on Friday, August 18th.

Sorry for the delay, but here's a description of how you can access the archived radio webcast:

Go to http://nettradio.nrk.no/default.php > write "p1-scenen" in the input field called "Søk etter program:" > click the "SØK" button/press enter > choose 21.07 (22:05 - 23:00) among the alternatives and don't forget that +++ is the best quality setting.

The Daniel Lanois part comes first after a short intro by the DJ.
