Dear all,

I am currently engaged in a heated debate with a friend in relation to the pronunciation of 'Lanois'.  I know what you're thinking; "get a life" all that shit.  Well back off if that's the case.  Its not the point.

I say its Lanois as in 'Stella ArtOIS'.  (ie. lanWAH)

He says its Lanois as in 'IllinOIS'.  (ie. lanOY)

Help?

LanWAH.
The family themselves put a very hard 'A' sound at the end on the Rocky World vid. You're right anyway.

Thanks very much for the reply.  Many hours of argument will not be required now. But the best part is that I was right!  Hoorah!

Cheers,

James.

Btw.  I have heaps of Daniel-produced albums, (Oh Mercy and Wrecking Ball my favourites) all of which I love, but I don't actually have any of his solo stuff.  What's a good one to start on?

They are all great to be honest, but Acadie is probably the best place to start, although if you're a fan of Wreaking Ball, Shine has a similar atmosphere, plus guest vocals from Emmylou.
