Why is it that in all these little films I've been watching of Lanois lately, he is always playing with
someone else but whne the record come sout none of those people are on the record.

I just watched a little fiim of him playing with some band whose name I forgot (female singer who so8unded real good)
on the title song, but on the CD they're not there?

Just wondering if anyone knows why...

I think Dan just likes to play with lots of different people. Some of these people do end up playing on his records too though, Brian Blade in particular. I wonder if the female singer you saw was Emmylou Harris. Dan produced and wrote a few songs on album Wrecking Ball, and she sings backup on his song 'I Love You'.

I think he's refering to Oliver Black's singer (forgot her name).

Lanois did a promo stunt with them jsut for the fun of it. The album was already recorded.

True, she had a nice voice.
