"Contains some spoilers if you havent seen the film yet"

All i can say is oh yes, very cool. I got it in the mail 3 days ago & I've already watched it 4 times. As much of a Lanois fan that i am
i thought i might be disappointed with this release but i was dead wrong. Grin
This is exactly what i was hoping for.
The three 5x7 photos are very cool.....One shot on the piano(which is signed nicely from Daniel himself with a silver marker),one shot on the lap steel, and one blurred out shot on the acoustic guitar.I guess there's 12 different photos in all.
The mini-notebook is a strange addition but well-made and slick-looking. Black in color filled with mini quad paper w/Here is what is    Daniel Lanois on the cover in gloss black over a flat black.
The packaging is top-notch. Nice looking following the red/black/white color scheme. The insert contains more stills from the movie as well as lyrics.
The kicker to the goldtop version is IMO the 1 hour of bonus footage. Mostly consisting of different "takes" of songs from the movie as well as some interesting dialogue between Lanois & friends. My favorite is the tour of the LA studio....classic stuff.
An excellent package to be sure.

Cheesy  I completely agree.  This is a dream package for Lanois fans.  The little extras in the mailing are much appreciated, and the big extras on the DVD are 'way more than I'd dared to hope for.  The performance videos and extra takes are priceless and so appreciated!  Haven't had time to completely revel in it all yet, but I look forward to being inspired many times over.  Great package from great artist...  Thanks to all who helped put it together.   Also wanted to say I enjoyed seeing Dan on SXSW over the weekend...
