Daniel recorded a new version of The Maker for a french tv show (Temps Dur) with a singer from Montreal, Bahia. It can be downloaded from Radio-Canada's site:

The sample sounds great but it seems purchase is restricted to Canadians.  Am I understanding that right?  Do you know of any way we here in the U.S. can download it?

The song is sold on Archambaultzik, owned by the infamous Quebecor (sort of a local Microsoft of the media, sadly controling a huge portion of Québec's popular medias — a long succes story that turned sour).

The songs sold on Archambault's site are not in mp3 nor AAC format, wich is kinda stupid, if you want my point of view. They can't be played on an iPod and not even on a Mac, not because of some technical problem, but because of political and commercial reasons.

so, perhaps an enterprising PC user might share the music by converting it to mp3 or aac? I will host the track for everyone.

I tried downloading this last night, but the license didn't come through with it.  I sent a note in to archambault, but haven't heard anything meaningful back from them yet...

Just wanted to update:  The Archambault folks were very helpful, I think it was an error on my end, and I can play the track just fine.  Without having done a comparison, it sounds like the music track is the same as that for the version on Rockets.
