The Continuation of ACADIE web and Forums

I've been mulling over the idea of shutting down these forums and the web site. When the project began in 1995, it was a different world and Dan did not have any presence on the web. Now, with the work of Dan and people that surround him there are many other options that are official. In addition, we could all collaborate more on the Wikipedia entry to make it a rich content tool for everyone.

Part of the reason for shutting it down is it is kind of embarrassing to have such an old site up, especially since I don't update it very frequently. Also, the forums have to monitored and maintained to protect against spam and other security matters.

So, I thought I ask your opinion. Obviously, it is my decision but wanted to get a sense from the audience.

It's sad to hear that the site might be shut down, but all your arguments seem very valid and well considered.

I like the idea about collaborating on the Wikipedia entry to create for an information rich resource.
The production, discography & biography infomation can be intergerated into Wikipedia quite easily.
However, there is information on your site that won't be converted so easily, such as the tour dates & setlists.

I hear ya - I think I have been on here for at least 10 years...and although my visits and contributions are infrequent I still find myself turning to it when I need a DL fix.  I do understand the time commitment involved. Whatever you decide I know I have enjoyed having this site around and your efforts have been much appreciated.  All the best, Chris
